The best part of the hotel was that you could get into your cozzy and grab your surf board if you surf, walk over the road and you are in the water with great waves to surf or swim. You then come back, have a swim, shoot a few hoops in the pool basketball, or swim in the quieter pool round the corner. This is all without needing any keys or towels to be left on the beach.
The beach front stuff seems to all be hotel orientated, but if you walk in the other direction you have everything - shops, money changers, photo developers, restaurants etc in abundance.
The room service is good and no more expensive than you would get in a beach front restaurant. The laundry is efficient although pricey, but is it not always? You do get water in your room in a thermos flask and they replace that everyday or if you ask. Otherwise water in the shops is 2000 for a large bottle.
The only problem we had was with the phone. We could not get through long distance and then were charged for calls (they changed the bill when we explained this) The other quirk was that you could not get through to the hotel - it just rang and rang with no one answering for days. This is a bit irritating as no one could get hold of us even to leave messages. We could phone out locally though- go figure. Hey this is Bali and you just go with the flow.
Great staff and very friendly. The massages were offered at 60000 and the masseurs were great to talk to, although we never had a massage at the hotel (we had longer cheaper ones elsewhere).
Breakfast is fruit and cerials, eggs/omelette of your choice, pastries and toast, tea coffee and juice. They also have noodles and fritters and things - sausage and bacon which I never had cos I'm a veg.
Enjoy! Email me if you want more info.
