Hi ya Mike, I think I posted a response to you earlier this week. Look if you don't organise to meet up with folk from this forum, don't panic/worry.
When you get there I can gaurentee you will meet many other travellers and locals and might make some life long friends too.
Both in Kuta during the nightlife at Sari Club etc, or on bus tours, while eating lunch or visiting places of interest around the island.
Most people (except those who had the wrong idea of what to expect) are there to have a good time, relaxing holiday. And from this you find that unlike @ at home people are more open to be friendly and make friends.
Have you had a good read of items on this forum? This together with reading other web sites on Bali will help you plan your trip and utilise your time the best.
