I was advised by the British Airways facility for Foreign travel to get inoculated for typhoid. This only became a factor since mid-98. Due to the nature of this virus you are more likely to contract it in an urban area like Kuta , than on say the coast. Yoiu have to decide for yourself. Last year two Singaporeans died of typhoid which prompted the advice. good luck. Anyway it is painless, cheap and a good thing to get period.
