I would suggest spending part of your time based in Ubud from where with the help of a drive guide you can visit almost anywhere in the island by taking day trips. Search the archives looking especially for just back trip reports. We enjoyed Puri Ulun Danu, The Mother Temple, the magnificent rice terraces, Bali Bird Park, Banjar Hot Springs, dance performances,restaurants, massages and just hanging out in Ubud, amongst other things. Some one else will be able to tell you the beach highlights. Have a great trip. Sue
