The Le Meridien Hotel is absolutely beautiful. The service is excellent. However, it is located away from most towns. But I thinks that is a plus rather than a minus. A driver is so cheap to hire it doesn't really matter where your hotel is located. Our driver's name was Wayan tel# 036321935. Very nice and very clean. Walk over to Tanah Lot and through the market place. For the most part most people are friendly and kind. Try to avoid Kuta as much as possible. As far as alcohol you are allowed to bring in one bottle per person. We were probably one of the few people to be checked at customs. The local beer is very cheap but good; however, wine is very expensive. I don't know the price on liquor but I think it is also expensive.
