The correct spelling is Sentosa Island, drop by the museums there, give you an interesting story on S'pore.
Taxi is impossible between 11pm to midnite. But there'll be plenty after midnite in the town area but you'll have to pay 50% more off the meter. Otherwise, the efficeint bus & MRT services are reliable and operate up to midnite. For that reason and others mentioned by Dawn, YWCA/YMCA located at Brah Basah Road is a good choice, since you'll have plenty of buses going there and an MRT station 100m away.
