My 15 year old son and I stayed at the Grand Mirage Resort for 3 nights at the end of March. We had a splendid time! The lobby is stunning with a sunken pool and waterfall, complete with ducks! The rooms were beautiful, the bathrooms are all marble, the pool was wonderful. I used the beach and swam in the sea - was GREAT! The breakfast buffet was excellent every day - we particularly liked the omelettes cooked to our satisfaction and the waffles. Good fruit selection too.
Our package (booked from the Grand Mirage internet site) was US$85/night. This included the breakfast buffet, use of the fitness center and use of the hotel email (from 7:30am-11pm). If you get Bali belly (like I did - I forgot to brush my teeth with bottled water) there are in-house movies to watch in your room.
Do have the hotel book you a reservation for a dinner at the Bumbu Bali Restaurant. The restaurant will send a driver for you and take you back to the hotel again. The food was delicious!
There are shops up and down the road across from the hotel - have a look. I got some nice t-shirts.
