Yes it is tame but very beautiful. We went with Bali Adventure Tours and found it longer than Sobek rafting ( an extra set of rapids). The trip was 8 kilometres long and took 2 hours. Locals were out washing and bathing in the river. We paid $US35 per person as we took the late afternoon package (no meal) and saved over $US20 per person. Book direct with the company and save 10% off the fare. Same trip, same rapids, same bloody walk up and down stairs and same hawkers hassling you as you are wet and tired climbing up those stairs. As you pose under the waterfall for a photo hawkers magically appear in the river selling you Bintang beer or Coke at 20000rupiah a can (only 3-5000rp in the shops). All in all for the novice it was good fun and worth it.
