Night life in Bali

I am a 32 year old male from the US who will be in Bali from 29 April to 4 May and I wanted to find out the "in" places to have a good time at night. Also, is this the off-season for tourists? I would prefer places that either have good music to dance to or a place where you can sit and have a conversation with someone. Thanks for the help!
