We stayed at Rama Baruna for 17 days last month, and really enjoyed it. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was good, the staff is very friendly. The pool is warm, clean and very nice. The hotel is not on the beach. There is a narrow road between the hotel and the beach, and in this area the beach is not very nice. Raw smelly sewer flows directly into the ocean. By the way Rama Baruna is directly across from the Holiday Inn. We never swam in the ocean, but swam daily in the pool. The hotel grounds are very nice as well and the rooms are a good size. It is a very quiet hotel. If you need service the staff will look after you immediately. Directly across from the Rama Baruna is the S and A Restaurant. We had quite a few lunches there for about $3.00 Canadian including a soft drink.
