You've quite a set of questions. Re accommodations, you can still find places for US$2 but I don't know whether you'll like them. But if you don't mind the rats, go ahead.
For the three lakes with different colours you've to trvael quite a bit. If you are an a budget say 7-10 days. Zimbabwe will take you longer -- probably 10 months more if you travel on a budget.
Whether anyone is going in June is not sure yet. In a normal month there are 100,000 foreigners visiting Bali, but in June -- who knows ???
