Wayan Merta usually gets $30.00 US per day. If you arrange to use him for multiple days, he will sometimes agree to $25.00 US per day. He prefers US dollars to Rp. (The reason: he chooses the time to redeem into Rp. - usually at the highest rate.)
As far as gifts: he has requested books. He likes books on architecture, art, interior decorating, etc. Remember, he just got married and I'm sure he would like any gifts for his bride. A happy wife makes a happy.............you know.
