I am also trying to sort out the ATM. We are sending our son to Bali for an extended stay. He is in his twenty's, and still dealing with attention deficit disorder since childhood. Consequently, he is unable to manage large sums of cash. We intend to make frequent small transfers to a bank account that he will access via ATM machines in Bali. I was in Bali last September and I remember using an ATM machine around Ubud once. However, I don't remember how it worked, I simply took a cash advance against my VISA or MC. I would appreciate any insight into how other's would handle this ATM cash budgeting problem. And, thanks again to everyone for making this the best forum on the Net.
