I did a trip to Lombok in Jan 98.
I went via the slow ferry and came back via the Mabua ferry.
I think the slow ferry is better for these reasons:
-Price 11,000 Rp for 2 People.
-Travel with the locals.
-Smoother ride, because it is bigger.
-Better range at the shop & cheaper.
-It is only 90 minutes longer.
-Nice trip to the port in Bali. Just south of Candi Dasa
-It runs every 2 hours. Mabua runs once a day. Leaves Bali a 8am
