The tips were right! We had a lot of problems with rigged calculators and indeed the money changers are quite skilled in using them to drop you off!
Look for the "no comission" sign or you will not get the money you want because 10% comission are normal!
One last tip: Compare the exchange-rates carefully and walk around a little looking at the boards. And: Maybe wait one day to change your money, the rates change every day and the cheapest changer of today will not be the cheapest tomorrow!
