I have hooked onto a great 1 week special package to Bali this June '99 ,...but thereafter will have to fly back to KUL and have requested an extended 7 nights in (hopefully AWAY !)Kuala Lumpur before flying home. Where next ??? How easy / pricey is it to get into Thailand ? - Other islands ? The utha 1/2 loves surfing , I like eating. Any backpacker reccommendations in Phuket , penang - avoid these ? other suggestions ? I have travelled extensively in south & central america - but never been "east". your experience & advise appreciated
