We stayed at the Kartika Plaza about five years ago. Very nice rooms, good location although the beach right in front of the hotel is not very appealing. You need to walk two or three hundred yards towards Kuta. The restaurants are upmarket and quite expensive. we chose to eat outside the hotel. I am sure they would do a special anniversary dinner, at a price.
The pool area and pool bar look great but not much atmosphere. Also very good fitness centre and gym.
Overall a top class hotel and good value. Having said all that we probably wouldn't stay there again. We are more into the smaller, slightly more downmarket hotel. Both the staff and guests seem to be friendlier at these places. (Dont get me wrong, the staff at Kartika were fine.)
