We did and were slightly disappointed. The long drive was breathtaking, but scarey at the same time, as you are often driving at the edge of the mountainside without knowing who's coming around the winding corners. By the time we got there, the vegetation and grounds were very similar to what we see in North America. The air was cooler, the grass manicured and the exhibits not particularly interesting. I suspect our disappointment was in the fact that everything else in Bali is so exotic, that this area seemed much too familiar. I certainly can understand why the Balinese find it unusual as it's different from the lush and humid environment around the rest of the island.

I will say though that we did pass some gorgeous landscapes, took some great photo's of some of the people on the road to Bedugal and stopped on the way back for a lovely restful lunch at the hotel near the lake.
