Haven't posted in a long time, things didn't go exactly as planned. Thought I'd give some info on general things.

#1. 30 block sunscreen is useless here. My younger one got sunstroke on our 3rd day here. I recommend 50 block.

#2. Nusa Dua sucks.

#3. Wisata Cottages(now known as Taman Indrakila)is a great place to stay. We were there for 18 days. Staff is absolutely great. I'd recommend the place highly. Say hi to Komang, his brother and Ketut if you go.

#4. After being here for a month and a half I can say that vaccinations are a complete waste of time and money. We've been sick, but not with anything that a shot would have prevented.

#5. Sanur beach is beautiful.

#6. Denpasar rules for shopping. Don't even bother wasting your money at Matahari's in Kuta. The prices are jacked up ridiculously. Hit Ramayana and Matahari's in Denpasar. Kumbasari market is also great.

#7. Butt bags are perfectly fine. Never had a problem. Just don't be stupid about it.

#8. Please be nice to the hawkers. Even if you don't want to buy, take the time to strike up a conversation with them. We've met some great people that way.

#9. When you go to Kintamani, stop at the spot that all the tourists do for pictures. There's a whack of hawkers and boy can you get good prices!

#10. Aroma's Cafe in Legian is a great vegetarian restaurant. Massive portions. Also Wes Wes in Ubud. Wes Wes tends to be cheaper but the food is, in my opinion, gourmet quality.

#11. Kasih Ibu in Denpasar is a great private hospital that is open 24/7. And the price to see a specialist there is cheaper that getting somebody from the Ubud or Kuta clinic. Better quality of care too. Dr. Suardana is great with kids with ear, nose and throat stuff going on.

Anyhoo, I hope some of this stuff helps somebody. Thanks to everybody who helped me when I needed it. After being here for over a month, we've decided to move here. I'll post again another day.

Have great holidays!
Sandra
