I stayed in a loft suite at the Bali Intercontinental in November & it was absolutely beautiful. I was not one bit disappointed with the beach or ocean - in fact I thought it was beautiful & very clean. The sand texture is different than the carribean, it's courser, rather than fine white sand, but none-the-less, breathtaking. I swam every day in the ocean and pool and loved both. The hotel has beautiful pools, wonderful restaurants - the beach is quiet & private, with palm covered tiki huts to protect yourself from the sun. You can walk down the beach in one direction to Jimbaran Bay with local restaurants on the beach and places to buy sarongs/crafts/jewelry. If you walk in the other direction, you come upon the Four Seasons and you can stroll through their gardens or eat in one of their restaurants for a change of pace. I would highly recommend the Bali-Intercontinental for a romantic & peaceful honeymoon.
