You have not said where you are staying, or, what you are planning to do.

We have just returned from Bali with our 2 1/2 year old and 10month old. Although we had high hopes of seeing all the sights, our 2 1.2 year old decided jumping into the pool all day every day was excitement enough, so our sightseeing was restricted to a trip to the Monkey Forest!!

Having said that, we took a cheap fold up twin pram and found it to be invaluable. Just the trip from the room to the pool was made so much easier not having to carry and coax babes along. It was also easier as all our excess baggage (ie. sunscreen, their food, swim rings etc etc, ) hooked nicely onto the pram. The main problem we had is that the hotel we stayed at was old, so was not entirely pram friendly - but most routes did have ramp equivalents for their steps. We stayed in Nusa Dua and therefore could go for long walks along the beach path with the kids - often they would fall asleep, so we could stop and have a drink. Cannot remember if there is a path along the beach at Kuta or Sanur.

As for taking the pram into the streets of Kuta etc, probably not a good idea. Apart from uneven levels, just too many people. A back pack is a good idea. As for taking to dinner etc, cannot see a problem so long as you can fold it up. It may be a bit of a squeeze in some restaurants but I am sure they will try and accomodate you. (We also used the babysitting service at the hotel so we could eat out without the children!!)

The other benefit of taking a pram was that the airline let us push the kids up to the plane to embark. They then stowed pusher in hold and it was first off in terms of luggage at the other end (you do have to walk a fair way to the luggage collection area though)
