Imported gin is available all over the island. Indonesia also makes "gin," a matter of definition. You should try a gin & tonic, with arak substituted for the gin. I don't mean the insipid arak sold in Kuta or Sanur, which is made from rice: it is not strong, taste bad, in fact it sucks. I mean the real, home-made arak, made from the palm flowers.
