Sanur has outlawed gin. You must travel to Kuta or Jakarta to get gin now but you cannot bring it to Sanur. If you are caught with gin in Sanur you will be sent to Timor where an expert will cut off your head and run down the street with it until CNN broadcasts it. Tonic on the other hand is perfectly legal but you must bring your own and it cannot be manufactured in Austalia. Call your consulate with this question as they can give you much more advice and hopefully save you much trouble (especially death).
