First, I got a real informative book from Amazon called "Fielding's Surfing Indonesia". It covers from Sumatra to Sumba and everywhere in between with a huge section on Bali. Has lots of helpful info especially directions to the breaks and also the optimum size and tides for each break.

Surfed Belangan last September, about 5 feet (Hawaiian measure). Real fun at high tide with some long rides if you pick the right one. Only about 5 guys out but no problem getting waves. When it's smaller it sections more but can still be a fun alternative if there are crowds elsewhere. They're starting to put in some accomodations there now (cafe with tables, etc.) and the access is real easy now that the Resort is being developed.

IMHO Dreamland isn't worth much unless there is some size. Not when you consider the other world class breaks around.

If you're tired of surfing lefts, try Green Ball on a windless day when Ulu's is about 3-4 feet. Green Ball might be 4-5 feet and it's got good power. Surfed it 4 times last May all good size and glassy and three out of four times I surfed it alone.
