hello.. we stayed in Permuteran recently at the Pondok Sari resort. We decided to walk over to the Matahari for lunch and were SHOCKED at the prices. (needless to say we left!) Everything in US dollars and the prices were just like Manhattan (where I'm from) Unreal!!!!
I would suggest staying at the Pondok Sari or the Taman Sari - both down the beach a bit. Around $40 - $50 per nite instead of $100/$150 per nite.
