I flew with Singapore Airlines, in 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1997 from the east coast of America to Jakarta. The actual airtime was about 25 hours, not including layovers which add up to another 12 hours.
Talk about a long flight, but, all in all, Singapore Airlines is the nicest airline I've ever flown with and I've traveled extensively around the world.
They have the newest fleet in the industry, the nicest staff you'll ever meet and I'm positive you'll enjoy your flight.
You can easily get a cheaper flight with Phillipine Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Norwest or KLM. The problem is some of those airlines have very old jets, with little, if any good entertainment aboard.
