pringga juwiti is beautiful. We went twice, but couldn't get a room. rooms were $USD 60/std to 80/deluxe in early april. If you can manage to get a reservation there then go straight from the airport. You should be in a cab by 9:00 or so, and to Ubud by 10. It's well worth not spending a night near the airport, and then moving in the morning. You'll thank me in the morning when you find yourself on vacation, instead of travelling to your vacation.
brem is much sweeter and heavier than sake. I did not try the arak though.
People are wonderful, this is not mexico or jamaica where they can be nice. there is a difference, and you will believe!!! Best wishes.
