fine to me. I'm sure you will find Bali to be able to offer you everything you are looking for.
Just one word of advise - once in Bali, adapt to Bali time - the service is great, but they do things at their own pace (and when it is 30+c & 90% humitity - that makes good sense to me).
feel free to ask any questions you want - in the forum or by e-mail - if people don't like it, so what, this is a free forum (just keep the language clean and non-offensive).
As for drivers/guides - just spend some time talking to a few and find one who suits you - maybe try them out on a short trip first & then hire them for a full day if they appeal to you.
As for hotels, just get one for the first night & then walk (or get a driver) and look at a few hotels until you find one you like.
Most of all go with an open mind & enjoy !!!!!!
