hi again, Kuta is busy, crowded, hectic, and irresistable. It is my favorite beach anywhere. Be there at sunset and you'll see why. Near the statue on Jalan Kuta Beach, (you cant miss it)...take the road just to the left of the statue. It's called Poppies Gang, and will take you to Poppies restaurant, if it isn't flooded. Most visitors like Poppies. We enjoyed it though it is pricey compared to the alternatives, though many Nusa visitors avoid the alternatives. If you dont mind being closer to the Bali style without actually eating off the carts, try the first restaurant on the left up Poppies Gang as you leave the beach, about 50 yards/meters up. It's associated with a hotel/pension, but I dont recall the name. Prices and food are good. I especially liked the prawns and french fries.
