My son had similar experiences - Giardia. If he is windy and slightly sulphurous (!!!!), check with your Doctor. TReatment is flagyl - if a child, one dose for three days I think, if an adult, 3-4 tablets at once. The tablets make you feel funny - everything tasts metallic and you cant drink alcohol for 48 hours, but this does the trick. The Doctor may ask for a specimen, but usually the cysts don't show up. Maybe try a travel clinic. Giardia comes from the water, but lots of areas in Australia also have it, so don;t worry too much if this is what it is. It will not go away by itself though - you need the tablets.
