I spent nearly AUD$100 per day - but I did some serious shopping - I think most do on their first time there (don't hold me to that) .
As JG said don't take anymore than what you're wearing and maybe another change of clothes. If you can avoid it don't wear jeans on your way there - sometimes unavoidable I know.
Why I say this is that when you get there you'll feel like your in a sauna and the jeans don't help too much. After the first day you seem to get into 'Bali Mode' and clothes and you're alright from then on.
I never got immunisations (although I'm not saying you shouldn't) because my Doctor said he had more people coming back from Bali with broken limbs from riding the motorbikes than from any nasty illnesses... hahahaha. I never died nor did I get bali belly - just lucky I guess. I'm a red cordial freak so maybe that helped.
I've always taken a fair bit of cash with me that I've put into the safe and then got the rest out on Visa. Easily done in the banks. We never had anything stolen although it is a concern anywhere you go on holiday.
In the last year we've had a few reports in our newspapers about peoples being 'stabbed' with knives when they go to toilets in the nightclubs. Just a warning to not go anywhere on your own - but thats common sense anyway.
Hope I haven't raved too much.
