Some description! Are you sure you do not work for "Golf Digest" or maybe "Sports Illustrated." After reading your report, maybe I should start playing golf? Regarding Tanah Lot, the construction of the golf course, but mostly the Nirwana Resort, almost triggered a REVOLUTION in Bali, 3 years ago. Pura Tanah Lot is one of the most sacred temple in Bali. Hotel villas and a golf course overlooking the temple did not sit well with the Balinese. Construction stopped for many months, and there were many demonstrations, some of them kind of rough. But the "mafia" in Jakarta prevailed, and there was some compromised, including no building looking down on the temple. This is one reason you can see it from the green. Many rice fields were bought (sometime with the usual arm-twisting) and some agglomarations were leveled.
