JD, you'll probably get cheaper tickets going through a consolidator. In San Francisco, try giving Natrabu and Borneo International a call. I use both, and they have different deals. They always have much cheaper tickets to Bali than going directly to the airline; I can't say for sure about Australia, but it's worth a try.
