Ian, my wife and I just got back from Bali 2 weeks ago. We used a driver we booked via this forum. His name is Wayan Nama and I made a great friend out of this man. I still email him regularly. You can hire him for one day or more. He charges 175000 rupiahs per day(About $30 Aussie) which include a modern aircondioned 4 door vehicle and petrol. He will collect you from your hotel from about 8.30 a.m. and stay with you until 6p.m or longer if you need. He will act as a guide, go shopping and help you get the best prices.
