I stayed there for one week in January this year with my family. I got a special deal from an agent including ongoing airfares to Jakarta so I can't exactly help you with the room rates. I did however negotiate a "corporate rate" for an extra night in a family suite for $100 US a night. The hotel was nearly full when I was there but it was holiday season in Indonesia at the time. The resort was fantastic, meals and drinks are cheaper outside at smaller restaurants but the rupiah rate was so low at the time I didn't worry me paying the extra from time to time, everything went on room rate and of course you can pay by plastic and earn points. There are three venues for bands, one is at the foyer of the hotel, a large stage and bar complex where bands local and international perform from about 9 pm to 1.00pm, it can be noisy in the rooms. A cover band "The Australian Beatles" were there in January. Another venue is the restaurant cafe where the same applies but a cover charge is charged to non patrons of the HRBR.The bands play much later there. Bands sometimes play by the pool on Saturday or Sunday afternoons.
There is a stratacaster wall near the reception as well as all the other HRC paraphanalia hanging around. The "free" items are "cheese cloth" beach bags, and a rubber duck - not much to offer I suppose. There is a good shop selling more paraphanalia which was quite cheap compared to prices in other countries. In all, for one week I spent about $100US two adults and two small children on the room which I thought was good value. It has a great pool, some say it's the largest free form pool in Bali. There is a bar above the pool looking towards Kuta Beach where great sunsets can be viewed, make sure you are there Wednesday evenings, free drinks and finger food from management. The beach is just across the road out the front near the entrance on the cafe. At night time you might need to watch out for the kupu kupu malams, I looked and looked but I did not get to see anywhen I was there. I think Balijo has caught them all and locked them up, the greedy bastard. If you see Balijo when you are there make sure he tells you where these kupu kupu malams are hiding. You should have a good time, I did, and this was about the twentieth time I have been to Bali and the first time in a themed resort.
