There is a possibility of getting Malaria in Bali. I've been to Bali three times and have never taken pills or been sick but you can't be too safe. Think about it. If there's Malaria in Lombok (which there definately is), what's stopping the mosquitoes from crossing the straight in all of those tourist boats. If you're worried, take something so you can enjoy your stay.
