My favourite place for monkeys is on the beautiful mountain road between Mataram and Bangasal harbour on Lombok. I was scared of the ones in Ubud, but the monkeys in Lombok ate out of our hands and never attacked.
As for dragons, the best place to go is Komodo island if you have the time. It's a bit of a hike but incredibly interesting. Have Fun!
