We stayed at the Aston Bali and LOVED the hotel. The staff
were fantastic, and the service was great. The Northern
Bali tour is excellent, and you will enjoy it. We only
went on two tours because they are very long. The northern
Bali tour lasted eleven hours. The problem is that the
Aston Bali is so far away, you spend a couple extra hours
just travelling. So we opted to hire a driver and van for
the rest of our sightseeing. We met a nice Argentinian
couple, and split the cost with them. Our share was about
$20 Can. for eight hours. The driver's name is Nyoman Sutapa
and his phone number id 773637. He is honest, reliable, and his
van is very clean and roadworthy. We went to the temple at
Ulu Watu, which is not in any of the tours, but definitely worth
a visit. If you want a good beach massage, wander down the beach
to your left until you come to a multicoloured plastic fence. Just
past that is a bunch of ladies in yellow tee shirts. They will give
you an hour long massage for about 30000 rupiah ($6Can). For meals,
we ate at the Jukung, it was cheap (80,000 rupiah for two meals and
drinks) and the staff is wonderful. Don't bother with the Kintamani
Tour, the hawkers are like rabid mosquitos there. You will be grateful for the lovely quiet enclave of Nusa Dua when you visit
clamorous Kuta. Have a wonderful trip.
