Hi Ren,
There are a couple to try:
Made's Warung on Jalan Pantai Kuta near Bemo Corner - one of the original restaurants in Kuta; good for Nasi Campur, Gado Gado, Mie Goreng and many other local specialities.
Glory Restaurant and Bar on Jalan Legian - 2 or 3 nights a week they have an Indonesian Buffet which is fairly cheap and offers a great selection of dishes.
For local seafood go to the beachside "restaurants" at Jimbaran Bay; really only some plastic tables and chairs and umbrellas but incredibly cheap and tasty seafood cooked before your eyes.
You can get any type of cuisine you want in the Kuta/Legian/Seminyak strip. For a treat try TJ's Mexican in Poppies Lane I for it atmosphere, great food and margaritas or La Lucciola at Seminyak b(booking is a must, at least 2 days in advance)for marvellous Italian and a glorious view of the sunset.
Hope it helps.
