Not actually a full trip report...to jetlagged to sit at the computer for that long...so just a few quick points.
- Outstanding trip, beautiful country, can't wait to return.
- I should have bought more stuff (clothes, silver jewellry, furniture)
- should have gone for longer (two weeks was too short)
- No problem with any currency to exchange...we took $100 CDN bills and ATM cards worked in Ubud and Airport (be warned that those money changers are tricky and fast!)
- stayed at Bayu Kartika in Lovina(rp 65000) excellent value for the money, on the beach, pool...
- Ubud was wonderful and the favourite location for us
- Kuta was too much for us but we spent a great day lounging on the beach
- a one night stay in Bedugul was quiet and very scenic
- the weather was very warm , we had a couple of phenomenal rain storms. In Kuta Poppies Lane 2 was flooded last week from the rain and a portion of Jalan Legian was too. You won't need long pants or a light jacket if you are going soon. I spent almost the entire trip in a sarong, T shirrt and sandals.
I am happy to answer anyones specific questions if you want to email me. We had great accomodation everywhere and great food. This forum provided way more valuable info than any other source I had while planning the trip so thanks to everyone who takes part.
