DVD discs have a regional code built in, so that movies released in one market (US) can't be played in another one (Japan, Australia), so legitimate DVD discs in Indonesia may not work in other regions. Pirated ones may exist, but I know that the companies are spending a lot more on protection software because of the flourishing pirate trading in places like Latin America and SE Asia.
