You will find that unless you are out in the extreme bush or very far away from major towns, that the dollar (US, Aud, Cad, etc.) will be accepted throughout the world. I always take a lot of US $'s for tips. Even though it is a lot of money by some standards, it's still only a couple of dollars for myself. Always tip a couple of dollars for baggage handling, whether at airport or hotel. Again, very much for them and very little for myself.
Only one time in Africa, did I buy something with a US dollar - where the lady asked our guide to change it into Kenya schillings.
Couple of dollars is always good for tipping.
