Teenagers?

We are going to stay at the Hard Rock Resort in May. I am taking my 12 & 14 year old. Have read some negative reports about the Hard Rock. I thought it would be a great place to stay with plenty for the kids to do if they get tired of being harrassed by hawkers,etc. I want them to have a great time - any suggestions for this age group?
Also where can I buy real batik by the metre or lengths bigger than sarongs?
