Took 4 x 2 litres over in Dec because smuggling champagne is far too heavy. Customs don't seem very interested in what you have.
A lot of the restaurants don't sell it and as long as you were a regular customer I would take along my cask and a glass at night and no one would mind.
I hadn't drunk beer for years but found with the heat there was nothing quite like an icy cold Bintang to start with.
In Lombok I broke out and ordered a glass of white wine for happy hour at the hotel (it was more expensive than the cocktails). It arrived in a small ceramic jug with a huge glass. I asked what it was and found out that the De Bortoli's cask is alive and well in Lombok.
