When I arrived in Bali two weeks ago I declared that I had over 2L of alcohol with me and when I went through customs they didn't even open the card to see what I was declaring and motioned me through. So I don't think they are all that strict on this. I remember reading on the forum that someone took a cask of wine with them. Aussie wine is very expensive in Bali so if wine is all your husband can drink I'd take some. Otherwise there is always the fantastic cheap cocktails to hit the spot! Sex on the beach is pretty nice (cocktail of course!).
