I have found that living in Lombok is a little different from Ni Luh's experiences in Bali. Since Lombok is more ethnically, and religiously diverse than Bali it seems there is a greater acceptance of being "different" than you might find on Bali. Of course it all depends on where you are, but Lombok has large populations of people from all over Nusa Tenggara with all their different religions, customs, and beliefs who have married into my husband's village, Suranadi. I was never the only woman just learning to make the complicated offerings, or making mistakes during ceremonies! But again, it just depends on the particular village your husband is from.

Again, feel free to e-mail me directly!
