Haven't done this myself, but last year my son and his girlfriend successfully left luggage at two or three Hotels in Ubud while they island hopped. Don't know whether I would trust Kuta though are you sure you want to go to Kuta? It's not nice, you would be much better off somewhere outside Kuta, the beach is not the place to go in Bali. However, what ever you want don't forget to go and see the three coloured lake in Flores.
