We were there in end of October / beginning of November 98,in a budget room overlooking the front, but not directly over the front entrance. Room was on the small side. People looking after our room were great, but I think that things were not all that they could have been in the hotel in general. TV perhaps ought to have been retired, as it kept on going off tune every few days. Also, the 'happy hour' policy at the beach bar was not consistent with the notice in the foyer, which got both ourselves and other couples confused and angry. Meals were good but on the expensive side, especially the local wine which was more than 5 times the price at a favourite local restaurant. Other services and the gym were priced at well over any reasonable levels. Pool was clean, large and quite empty for most of the time.
Sanur was just as we had expected it to be. Not much hassle from the street sellers, plenty of drivers with cars who were willing to negotiate prices. Pavement from hotel towards the main street was somewhat broken up.
