We went Garuda from London Gatwick, via Frankfurt and Bangkok, eturning just under two weeks ago. It was brilliant cost-wise, we went Executive class which turns out to be virtually first class size seats. The in-flight entertainment is not up to much and most of the equipment in the executive class was broken, don't know what it is like in the tourist section. The food wasn't up to much either, also don't know what tourist was like. There is incidentally a middle class, don't know what it is called, and have never managed to get into one of the seats, apart from the time we went with Kuoni. Maybe they are all kept for up-market tour operators, we were told that they didn't exist, but I have seen them and sat in one of them, they are just behind the executive class.

But I digress, the service couldn't be faulted, the plane was clean and everybody on the staff was very helpful. Last year we went British Airways, and we wouldn't go with them again, apart from anything else they don't even go into Denpasar and you therefore have to change coming from London. The year before we went with Singapore Air and they were good too, but for executive class much more expensive.

We will certainly travel with them again.

One thing to remember though, Garuda is a smoking airline, at least it is on the London route as far as Bangkok.

Hope this is of some help.

Have a nice holiday!
