We paid Wayan his asking price of $30 (US) per day. I did not want to bargain with him since I knew that we would be getting more than our money's worth. Wayan paid for gas, entrance and parking fees to various temples, "contributions" to police, and the cost of various items that we picked up at roadside stalls. Wayan has access to a variety of vehicles and he used a larger car when we were moving between hotels. For our tours, I had given Wayan a list of things that I definitely wanted to see and let him fill up the rest of the day. He will show you the "real Bali" and will take you through back roads and into the countryside to see sights that others would normally not see in a more formal guided tour.
